It is hardly a surprise that Bob Iger is back as Disney (DIS) CEO.
- One of the first operational changes that former Disney (DIS), CEO Bob Chapek made was to put management layers between himself and Creative which was far from the optimal leadership structure for churning out consistently great content – a prerequisite for driving sustainable growth across Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer (“DTC”) business.
- Iger’s final act at Disney may be a sale of the Walt Disney Company to Apple (AAPL) or Amazon (AMZN) in late 2023 or sometime in 2024.
- There is poetic justice here as Chapek forced out Iger.
