Disney CEO Bob Iger’s end game for the house of mouse does not necessarily have to be a sale to Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN) or Google (GOOGL), nor does it have to be a merger of equals with someone such as Comcast (CMCSA, the leading candidate to acquire WWE).

• Batman to the rescue. An acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), would not only bring the Warner Bros / DC content IP under Disney’s umbrella, it would also bring WBD CEO David Zaslav to Disney.
• Bonus. WBD investor and Board member Dr. John Malone would probably roll his equity into such a deal. In my opinion Malone has probably been the best steward of capital over the past 100 years.
• Track record. Zaslav turned around Discovery and is in the process of turning around WBD (Zaslav will succeed, mark my words). Zaslav and his team would be outstanding leaders of the Disney franchise for the next leg of its life (Zaslav is only 63 years old).
