Amazon, Apple and Microsoft Are Online Advertising Challengers

Amazon may not be a surprise to investors given the ubiquity of Amazon’s ecommerce platform.

Apple is an online advertising challenger given the services that sit on top of its devices from Gaming (Arcade) to Apple TV to Apple News to Apple’s forthcoming push into AR/VR.

Microsoft is another Tech giant that does not enjoy top-of-mind status among Ad buyers. However, we believe the Redmond giant has enormous Ad potential given its Xbox platform, its investments in mixed reality (AR/VR, which beg for in-application Ads, similar to in-game Ads) and its LinkedIn platform.

Tertiary players such as Snap, PayPal, Square and Robinhood have the potential to scale Online Ad businesses given that they hold millions of users captive. One could add Netflix, Disney+ and WarnerMedia to the Online Ad “player” list.
